JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa is admitting that power cuts will be with us for a while yet.
Ramaphosa was speaking through his weekly newsletter.
He admits there's no quick fix.
The president says the immediate goal is to reduce the frequency and severity of rolling blackouts.
This will be done by addressing power station breakdowns.
Ramaphosa says Eskom is implementing measures to address the shortage and poor quality of coal.
The utility will also relax content requirements for spare parts to undertake maintenance.
The National Electricity Crisis Committee is also working on legislative and policy reforms.
