JOHANNESBURG - SACP General Secretary Solly Mapaila says public servants deserve decent pay.

Speaking to JJ Tabane on Power to Truth, Mapaila says workers are struggling to keep up with the rising cost of living in the country.

Workers are demanding a 10 percent increase but government is offering a three percent baseline increase.

"Capital in this country is making billions of money. The banking sector, all banks have paid dividends," he said.

"The government needs to pay and must stop the advisory from the IMF and the World Bank that tells them about the conditions in the USA.

"Life has become a crisis. The government is not poor, It must give the public sector workers what they deserve, and must the private sector.”
