SA Tourism-Spurs deal | DA calls for funds to be redirected

JOHANNESBURG - The DA has welcomed the Tourism Department's intent to cancel the proposed R1-billion Tottenham Hotspur deal.

This after Tourism minister Patricia de Lille advised the Tourism SA board, to consider scrapping the controversial deal.

The DA is now urging that the funds set side for the deal be re-directed to upgrading dilapidated tourism infrastructure.

The party is also calling on the Minister to engage with the board regarding the illegal appointment of SAT board members.

The board has until Wednesday to respond to the Minister on the way forward.
