SA’s health emergency | Eastern Cape legal bill gets healthy trim

BHISHO - Eastern Cape Health says it's winning the battle against unscrupulous lawyers.

That's since it established a Specialised Litigation Unit.

The province faced around 600 medico-legal claims in 2019.

That figure has been reduced to around 200 a year.

While some lawyers may be opportunists looking to make a quick buck, patients say they have legitimate claims to make.
