Zephany Nurse kidnapper to be released

CAPE TOWN - Lavona Solomon, the woman who kidnapped Zephany Nurse as a newborn baby and raised her as her own, will be paroled on Friday.

Solomon served seven of her ten-year sentence.

Solomon kidnapped Zephany in 1997 and raised her under the name Miche Solomon.

She was arrested after Zephany’s biological sister recognised their strong resemblance and DNA tests confirmed her identity.

In March 2016, the Western Cape High Court found her guilty of kidnapping Nurse from Groote Schuur Hospital.
