JOHANNESBURG - The call to ban pit bulls in the country is growing louder.
A petition of almost 140,000 signatures have been handed over to Minister Thoko Didiza.
This followed a number of deaths and serious injuries linked to the canines.
Didiza says government is doing a DNA analysis of pit bull-type dogs.
This will help it understand their aggressive nature.
The Pit Bull Federation of SA is partnering with government to form a joint task team.
