The Dutchman finished second to Lando Norris at the Singapore Grand Prix but the saga over him being slapped with a community service order continued to dominate fallout in the paddock.

It was the McLaren driver's third career GP win and his first from pole position as he finished almost 30 seconds clear of his rival's Red Bull.

The Principality side backed up their impressive midweek victory in the Champions League against Spanish giants Barcelona.

McLaren lead with 516 points, ahead of Red Bull on 475 with Ferrari still in the fight on 441.

The result means both sides remain unbeaten five games into the new season, with seventh-placed Brighton one place above Forest in the table.
