Lavender Hill residents threaten to boycott polls

CAPE TOWN - Almost 100 people were killed in the Western Cape during the last week of March.

And, Lavender Hill residents say the murders are just not stopping.

They say about a dozen people have been shot and killed in the area since the weekend.

Many are too afraid to even go to work as rival gangs brazenly shoot at each other.

Police say there is a conflict between two rival gangs in Lavender Hill after three people were shot dead the previous week. 

Some residents are threatening to boycott the polls, saying no party deserves their vote.
