Four dead, 70 homes destroyed due to heavy rains in KZN

JOHANNESBURG - Authorities in KwaZulu Natal have confirmed four people died overnight as a result of the heavy rains that battered parts of the province.

An unconfirmed number of people are also reported missing.

Preliminary investigations also revealed over 50 homes were destroyed.

Disaster management authorities are assessing the damage and are urging residents to heed weather warnings.

Northern KZN is most affected including Mtubatuba and Somkele.
