GBV epidemic | NPA concerned by high number of withdrawn cases

STELLENBOSCH - NPA head Shamila Batohi is concerned about the high number of GBV cases being withdrawn.

She says while there is a 75 percent conviction rate, too many cases are not getting to court.

She was speaking at the opening of its 64th victim support centre in Stellenbosch.

The facility will serve 37 suburbs and towns and 12 informal settlements.

The NPA says it will soon be opening another centre in Mitchells Plain.
