Husband appears in court over wife's murder

DURBAN - The husband of reverend Liezel de Jager appeared briefly in the Amanzimtoti magistrate's court on Monday, in connection with her murder.

The pastor's body was discovered in her Amanzimtoti home two years ago.

The SAPS Cold Case Unit found and arrested the suspect last week in Bloemfontein.

De Jager was found with cuts and strangulation marks on her neck after a morning jog.

Her husband Werner de Jager will be back in court on 7 December for his bail application.
