TSHWANE - Tshwane's Mayor says the city won't yield to pressure as political parties and unions call for the reinstatement of fired municipal workers.

SAMWU-affiliated municipal workers have been protesting over a pay increase, and over hundred have been fired for participating in an unprotected strike.

The City Council sits on Thursday to discuss matters around this strike that has left the metro in a stench for two months.

EFF supporters and SAMWU members are expected to march to where the City Council will meet.

City of Tshwane Mayor, Cilliers Brink, says intimidation and violence won't change the fact that they don't have the money for salary increases.
