JOHANNESBURG - The year kicked off on a rocky foundation for some City of Johannesburg officials.

A Rand Water executive was killed, and the council’s Chief Whip was injured when criminals opened fire during a back-to-school program.
The matter is under investigation.

Now, City of Joburg officials say they will be taking immediate action to protect councillors and officials dealing with sensitive city-related work.
