Flood Aftermath | One child still missing as EC rebuilds begin

EAST LONDON - One child remains missing and three flood victims lie unidentified in an Eastern Cape government mortuary following the devastating June floods that claimed over 100 lives.

More than a billion rand has been allocated to rebuild affected communities, but officials say more funding is needed.

Eastern Cape Cogta MEC Zolile Williams says time planners are on the ground marking red zones and resettling displaced families.

“Those who were critically affected we have already reopened such roads, its only 63 bridges that has been affected where i think as a province will not be able to deal with such alone” he added.
