NERSA | Afriforum accuses NERSA of dodging court mandate

JOHANNESBURG - Afriforum is seeking clarity from NERSA regarding compliance with a court ruling from October last year. 

The ruling stated that municipalities must submit cost-of-supply studies before implementing tariff increases, instead of relying on price bands and guidelines. The cost-of-supply framework was established to protect consumers from excessively high rates.

According to the organisation, NERSA is not complying with the court order, as they have provided municipalities with a new revenue requirement template.
