JOHANNESBURG - Amnesty International has strongly condemned what it calls the failures of the Department of Basic Education, and that no child should die in pit toilets because of their inaction.
Three-year-old Unecebo Mboteni, died last week after allegedly drowning in a pit latrine at a crèche in East London.
This has been a longstanding problem in South Africa, which refuses to go away.
Genevieve Quintal, from Amnesty International South Africa, discussed this with eNCA.
