Significant fuel price hikes expected in October

JOHANNESBURG - More bad news for motorists and consumers.

The Automobile Association is warning us to brace for significant fuel hikes in October.

This is based on unaudited data from the Central Energy Fund.

It indicates petrol could increase by over R1 per litre, and diesel by as much as R2.

The main driver behind the potential increases are higher international oil prices.

They have climbed substantially since August, mainly due to reduced output by major oil producing nations.
