Joburg mayor files urgent application to halt council sitting

City of Johannesburg Mayor Mpho Phalatse files an urgent interdict to halt Friday's extraordinary council meeting.

JOHANNESBURG - City of Johannesburg mayor, Mpho Phalatse, has filed urgent papers to block an extra-ordinary Johannesburg Council sitting.

It is expected a motion of no-confidence in the mayor will be tabled.

She also wants a sitting that elected new Speaker Colleen Makhubele declared invalid.
