Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, will head to the polls for local elections, the first by universal suffrage in nearly 60 years.

It was a brief appearance for Victor Majola in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court.

A statement from the Commission said: "We have requested clarifications from the US authorities and remain engaged."
