Impala platinum strike | Over 2,000 miners refuse to surface

RUSTENBURG - Underground sit-ins have become the preferred form of protest in the mining sector.

This time, over 2,000 miners at Impala Platinum's Bafokeng Rasimone mine in Rustenburg are refusing to surface after reporting for duty on Monday morning.

Workers are at loggerheads with the mine and their labour union over a R104-million dividend shares agreement.

Miners want their dividends released into their bank accounts.
