Ndimande brothers join five co-accused in AKA murder case

DURBAN - Brothers Malusi Ndimande and Siyabonga Ndimande have been formally added to the high-profile murder case of rapper Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes and his close friend Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane, bringing the total number of accused to seven.

The brothers appeared in the Durban Magistrate's Court, where they formally received their indictments.

The pair abandoned their bail application and will remain in custody.

Their indictment officially links them to the ongoing case involving the fatal shooting of Forbes and Motsoane, who were gunned down outside a Durban nightclub in February 2023.

The killings sent shockwaves across the country, given Forbes’ prominence in the South African music industry.

With the addition of the Ndimande brothers, the case will now proceed with seven accused.

It is set to be transferred to the High Court in Durban, where the trial is scheduled to begin on 19 June 2026.

The upcoming court proceedings are expected to draw significant public attention as the state prepares to present its case against all seven suspects in one of South Africa’s most closely watched murder trials.
