WATCH | Police Minister releases quarterly crime statistics

JOHANNESBURG - Police Minister Bheki Cele is expected to announce the quarterly crime statistics.

He will reveal the level of crimes that occurred between October and December 2023.

In the previous quarter between July and September of last year, nearly 7,000 people were murdered in South Africa.

And 881 of those were women and 293 were children.

Gauteng recorded the highest number of contact crimes followed by the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
