SONA 2024 | Road closures ahead of president's speech

CAPE TOWN - Road closures are already being implemented in Cape Town ahead of the State of the Nation address on Thursday.

The sitting brings together the three arms of the State under one roof, so expect a lot of pomp and ceremony.

Kevin Jacobs of the City of Cape Town said City Hall is the focal point and has been secured for SONA.

"The main thing to remember as that the perimeter around City Hall is closed.

"The surrounding areas are affected by either road closures or parking restrictions," he said.

"The upper freeways moving into town will be severely affected."

Jacobs appealed to the public to exercise patience.
