Weather warning | Lowveld braces for Tropical Storm Filipo

JOHANNESBURG - Most of the country is battling a sweltering heat wave, but Limpopo and Mpumalanga are bracing for storms.

Tropical storm Filipo, which has been entrenched in the Mozambique channel, is now headed to the Lowveld.

The Weather Service is warning of heavy rains and wind.

But it says the main storm should stay east of the Lebombo Mountains.

Forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela said as the storm moves south, it's expected to become a moderate tropical storm.
