JOHANNESBURG - It's impossible to control weather conditions and natural disasters.

The fires in the Western Cape have been devastating for people, livestock and crops.

There have been calls for the agriculture sector in the province to put protective measures in place as the fire season remains unpredictable.

eNCA spoke to Ashia Petersen, a director in the Western Cape Department of Agriculture.
