University of Fort Hare | Security official accused of ordering hits

JOHANNESBURG - Isaac Plaatjies has been described as the mastermind behind the deaths of staff at the University of Fort Hare.

The startling claims were made at the Dimbaza Magistrate's Court on Wednesday after the man tasked with fighting corruption and providing security at the tertiary institution was accused of conspiring to kill senior staff members, Petrus Roets and Mboneli Vesele.

It's alleged that Plaatjies also conspired with one of the hitmen to kill a senior Buffalo City official, who had two previous attempts made on his life, before he was murdered two months ago.
