Crime in SA | Police plan to deal with contact crimes, robberies

JOHANNESBURG - Contact crimes, house robberies and car hijacking are prevalent in Gauteng.

Newly-appointed commissioner Tommy Mthombeni says he has a plan to reduce these crimes.

Mthombeni intends to forge an even closer relationship with Community Policing Forums.

"The whole government approach [is] we have to work together with the communities," he said. 

Crimes happen within the community. It is important that we have that collaboration.”
