Police have arrested several suspects at a fake call centre in Umhlanga, north of Durban, in what appears to be a sophisticated banking scam worth millions. Investigators believe the suspects posed as bank officials, targeted high-value clients, and convinced victims to move money into accounts controlled by the syndicate.
There is also growing outrage over child sexual abuse in Gauteng after a 58-year-old man accused of raping a 12-year-old girl in Dobsonville, Soweto, appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court.
